Early Intervention 2: How can the school help?

The way we communicate and empathise with our little ones informs the way that our big ones will later choose – or choose not to – communicate with us.

Trauma is related to how children experience a situation, not necessarily how serious we think it is from the outside.

By helping children to understand the things they find difficult, we can arm them with coping strategies to successfully navigate their daily lives.

By creating safe spaces where children, teachers and parents can listen to each other, we can show young people that learning isn’t just about the curriculum and the classroom.
