Children’s unregulated access to the internet and to strangers, exposure to pervasive damaging content and persuasive material has created a situation we have never experienced before. In this film, we talk to children between the ages of 7 and 13 about their experiences online, what they have seen, what they wish they hadn’t seen. We talk honestly about how they get around parental controls and rules. We hear from some 13-year-olds who wish they had never been given a phone in the first place. We hear about sextortion and bullying.
We ask parents what they think they know about smart phones and social media – and then challenge them about what they don’t know.
But what if it’s too late and you’ve handed over the smart phone and allowed social media? It’s never too late to put in restrictions, however painful it may be at the start. Parents talk about their own experience and give advice around parental control and restrictions.

Building Great Schools: Insights from a transformative leader

Driven by the belief that education can transform lives and create a more equitable society, she provided a clear roadmap for teachers and school leaders. She develops inclusivity of vulnerable children by using the word ‘underserved’ rather than ‘disadvantaged’, bringing the onus of change on adults in positions of care, to create a sense of possibility and hope for what can be achieved.
