Meet the Team


Daniel Nabarro

Daniel is the Co-founder and Chair of Nip in the Bud. He obtained his degree in Electrical Sciences from Cambridge University. He then worked in telecommunications research and volunteered at the Samaritans. He subsequently set up several entrepreneurial operations including  He was chair of OCD Action and and continues to be active in his retirement.

Kitty Nabarro

Kitty worked as a teacher of modern languages in secondary schools and adult education. After retiring from the classroom, she became an active volunteer for OCD Action, with particular focus on the OCD at School programme, giving awareness talks prepared by the Maudsley Hospital. Since 2015, she has been working with Daniel as a co-founder Trustee and administrator of Nip in the Bud.

Dr Gordana Milavić

Dr Milavić is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital, London.

Dr Milavić specialized in child and adolescent psychiatry at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospitals in London. She has been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London, UK since 1980 and Fellow since 1996. She has near 40 years’ experience of clinical practice.

From 2006 to 2012 she was the Clinical Director for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Milavić’s more recent interest in the organisation of child and adolescent psychiatry services has led to her appointment to the post of Co – Chair of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Section of the World Psychiatric Association (2011 to date).

Michael Caro

Michael is a retired corporate lawyer who was a partner at Baker McKenzie. He became a Trustee of OCD Action in 2012 and was responsible for ‘converting’ OCD Action from an unincorporated association into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Michael was responsible for setting up Nip in the Bud and registering it with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

Simon Raperport

Simon is Treasurer of Nip in the Bud. He is a chartered accountant who, for the last 30 years has practised as a locum finance director for many different clients, including working as part of the team that created JW3. Prior to this, he worked in lighting and cable-making. He is Treasurer of The West London Synagogue Charitable Fund and sits on the boards of Hoop Lane and Edgwarebury cemeteries.

Lisanne Stock

Lisanne is a junior doctor who has previously worked at University College Hospital and Watford General Hospital. As a student, she was President of the Oxford Society of Medicine and the Oxford Society for Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences. As part of her foundation training, she has completed rotations in Psychiatry, Accident & Emergency and Acute General Medicine. She hopes to pursue a career in Psychiatry.


Jayne Stokes

Jayne Stokes is a qualified and registered social worker, a qualified counsellor and qualified and registered teacher for both children and adults.

Her education experience includes working as a Head of Faculty and a Head of Adult Education at a Community College, Guest Lecturing and Examining for Universities, Social Work Education Assessment.  She is a qualified NVQ External Verifier.

Her social care experience includes working as a Director of Development and External Affairs, Director of Services, Adoption Panel Chair, Head of Youth Fundraising and Marketing, Frontline Manager of Fostering, Child Protection, Assessment and Disability Teams, Family and Contact Centres.  She is a regular chair and speaker at national conferences.

Alongside her professional career in the statutory and voluntary sectors, Jayne and her family have been specialist foster carers.  She has served as a Parish Concillor, a County Councillor and a trustee for charities.
